Battery Chargers & UPS Function PSUs (UPS and Charging Function Power Supplies)
Power supplies with additional built-in charging function (also known as UPS function) are used in conjunction with a separate battery to ensure that the output is maintained in the event of mains failure. These units come in a variety of form factors including internal enclosed style, open frame and metal boxed units to name but a few. Our units come with built in protections such as reverse polarity battery protection, overcharge protection and deep discharge shut-down protection.
Some common applications include where mains failure can cause critical problems like security and access control products, security door controls, control panels, CCTV equipment and many more. Please contact Stontronics to find out if these units are suitable for your application.
Important Note on charging batteries: The max. charge current should never be more than the battery specification. Insufficient charge current and overcharge current can both damage and seriously impact the lifetime of the battery. Please read your power supply and/or battery manual first, to ensure that the correct charger and/or has been purchased.
